Guadalupe Ibercat Residential Neighborhood Gardens
The true potential of these community gardens was realized thanks to the collaboration of the multidisciplinary partners of the Guadalupe Ibercat Residential Neighborhood Project. IAL Studios developed landscaped areas, seating spaces, multigenerational play areas, and shared pathways along the 200-meter length of the project. Approximately 2.2 hectares of new green space were created in areas with a great need for communal green spaces.
These slender parks meander through a vast area of diverse character; a sometimes jarring mix of recreational and shaded areas. The project has a harmonizing effect on this part of the development, uniting the paths and gardens into a reconnected community fabric.
The linear garden is a chain of “activation nodes” for residents, including small areas for local gatherings, fitness stations, a variety of seating areas, children’s play areas, a picnic area, a dog park, and larger communal areas for activities such as sports, skating, bouldering, and climbing. These nodes offer attractive, safe, and well-maintained places for the community to enjoy.
