International Competition of the Central Park of Jinzhou, China
Central Park Jinzhou is going to be an architectural collaboration between I L A and an important Swedish architecture atelier.
This high profile project in industrial land now in disuse, will be the first stage of development of municipal system of urban parks. It will offer a unique building in its center, destined to be a cultural focus and place of interest for visitors. The building is covered by a combination of lithophilic-epiphytic aerial gardens with agronomic-hydroponic life support systems.

Perspective
IAL and its collaborative partners for this important project pledged at the beginning of 2010 to develop the initial conceptual designs for the gardens, as well as the cultural and museum space of the building endowments, the network of sunken courtyards and the plantation of palm groves and subtropical forests . This being the largest green aerial installation in the hemisphere, this project involves important microclimatic challenges. The design of the plantation and the technical development will be tested by means of a sequence of rigorous agronomic tests to guarantee the sustainability of the bio-installations. For the parks computerized computer models of wind regime analysis, interannual insolation dynamics and edafo-botanical interaction have been generated.

Cornfields, Rose Road and Forest. A field of Miscanthus sinensis “Giganteus” evokes vast crops of corn and cane, among which the visitor is lost during his journey; the closed subtropical forest is both an attractive point and a mysterious and secluded environment. The walk along ravine covered in rose carpet is part of an evocative dream.
The herbaceous structure of all the buildings in the complex occupies 60% of the buildings, which will be completely covered with vegetation.
The park will be surrounded by a wide moat and, once conditioned, will house numerous species of rare and endangered plants and animals. In addition to the construction of a large museum building, a 250 m wide band will be introduced around the park, in which native trees will beimplanted. In addition, the large size of the fortress has been highlighted by a “1.5” wide driveway, which dissects the 6 m high defense mounds.
