Mare Tranquilitatis Master Plan in Valdebebas, Madrid

Project selected in the INTERNATIONAL LANDSCAPING CONTEST IN VALDEBEBAS, in 2009, in Madrid, competing in a tough fight with the best landscaping and urban planning studies in the world. My project was included in the book publication of the contest, along with the most prominent of the competition. It is a beautiful evocation of the crater pattern on the Moon, which generates a series of differentiated spaces in such a vast extensive green space.

A series of vibrant hills frame the new landscape developments, generating 55 hectares of Meso-Mediterranean vegetation cover, in which bodiversity will flourish in a pulsating symphony of concerted wildlife and urban activity. To ensure that the new wild landscape generated effectively attracts to the residents of the surrounding area the tree masses of alien and exotic species that will captivate the imagination of naturalists and school children. Emerging from this topography of rolling green hills, the craters will house nature classrooms and youth hostels that will give life to this productive landscape
