Main entrance to the resort, I A L transformed an entrance garden at the gate into a modern, functional corporate fountain, with a bold proposal that includes an epiphytarium anchored to the trunk of the Washingtonia robusta palm at the center of the garden, too large and singular to transplant
This bold composition gives the corporate entrance a hint of arcy and appeal, immersing visitors in the surroundings as they enter the space, hiding the hustle and bustle of the adjacent urban landscape. Angel Rubio-Tormos, I A L’s chief landscaper, uses a dramatic plant palette to create a green and comfortable environment amidst the built environment.
Cloudy Dream, the water fountain designed for this corporate framework, creates misty clouds from the water projected downwards, within the sculptural element designed for this unique performance. It consists of 2 prismatic volume vessels, in which a double sculptural element has been designed that will house the jets of water that will fall, from top to bottom, onto the sheet of water of the fountain.
In fact, unlike most conventional fountains, where the water jets are projected upwards, either completely vertically or at a certain angle, describing a parabolic curve, in this project we have chosen to fit the set of water jets into an element closed at the top, making them fall from top to bottom, towards the body of water in the fountain.
In this way, while we are going to create a unique and original fountain, through this disruptive design we also achieve a technical improvement that is as visually striking as it is effective, since the loss of water swept by the wind outside the basin is minimized.
The fountain will be surrounded by simple, elegant and sober classical landscaping that will highlight the sculptural and corporate character of the complex.
The huge existing Washingtonia palm tree is too expensive and costly to transplant, so we have opted to integrate it into the complex.
To do this, the fountain basin is divided into two sections, housing the trunk of the palm tree in the middle.
But once this trunk is inserted into the fountain, it is necessary to change its negative visual effect in order to integrate it into the project.
In this way, we have designed a vertical epiphytarium that will cover the trunk, enhancing the unique and disruptive character of the project, and taking its style and visual value to a higher level.
