Unified Security Center, Murcia, Spain

The town’s Local Police Headquarters has been the opportunity to reinvent challenges of collaboration, innovation and ideation; all critical behaviors to stay at the forefront of corporate gardening. The consolidation of these new offices has reduced missed opportunities, while maximizing the employee and customer experience.

The new design of 5 assertive corporate gardens includes an approach of active sustainability and resilience, in synergy with the user, in its 500 m2 it strategically organizes all collaboration spaces around a continuous path throughout the entire building. The path, a 150 m long experience popularly known as “La Cañada”, begins in the vibrant outdoor space, inhabited by students who use its cozy study room, to, from street level, invite participation.

Customers and employees with its bold plant plantings and warm, welcoming tones. La Cañada links the collaborative work space with services such as the library, the coffee room, the study room and the neighborhood police stations, separating quiet and concentrated work from noise. A series of interconnected paths link the outdoor environments, promoting uninterrupted circulation throughout the public space as employees and students get away from their desks and interact with each other.

The exterior of these central offices has a stone texture on all floors, so that the user always has a clear indication of where to go to connect with their coworkers.
Interconnected and alternative workplaces located in each of the naturally lit rooms give each employee the opportunity to change the scenery and connect with their co-workers. There is always a clear transition between the collaborative space and the focus space of the individual work areas.
While there are nooks and dining facilities inside the building, all strategically located, each garden in the outdoor complex has adequate equipment to enjoy relaxation and lunch under the Mediterranean sky.
The corners along the landscape installation become respite areas, equipped with natural rock benches and incredible views of the city.
